Thrilling from the First Page to the Last

October 27, 2011 by unwasted words

Trance by Kelly Meding It started with an anomaly. A new race of human beyond the known scientific norm came into being. It ended with a war. But before the final blow could be cast and erase any chance for humanity’s heroes to overcome the metahuman’s bane, their powers were ripped away. Fifteen years after that fateful day when she was stripped of her superhuman abilities, simultaneously saving and destroying her life, Teresa “Trance” West re-powered. Strangely, Trance didn’t receive […]

More of a Prologue than a Prequel

October 18, 2011 by unwasted words

Daimon: A Prequel to Half-Blood (Covenant) by Jennifer L. Armentrout I read this before the first book and it does sell you on continuing the story. Daimon goes into detail about the events that lead to Alex’s return to the covenant. It has a decent story and some nice action sequences, but it’s lacking is substance. It would make more sense as a prologue or the first chapter in Half-Blood, helping to build and develop the story, instead of starting the […]

Silence Must be Code for Filler.

October 18, 2011 by unwasted words

Silence (Hush, Hush Saga) by Becca Fitzpatrick Becca Fitzpatrick returns with her third composition Silence, which was more an absence of content than sound. The latest installment in the Hush, Hush series catches up with Nora at the beginning of fall term. Unfortunately Grey has been missing for most of the summer and can’t remember the past five months prior to her reappearance. Weird, since she hasn’t been gone that long. Nora’s going to have to unravel her past to solve […]

The blood may tell, but the writing speaks for itself. This is a great read.

October 4, 2011 by unwasted words

Blood Will Tell by Samantha Young Coming from a long line of soul-sucking serial killers has it’s perks. I mean it’s not like anyone in her household is going to frown upon a little bullying, or homicidal thoughts, the money’s good, and you don’t need to look any further than your psychopathic first cousin for a future fiance. Yes, that’s life in a nutshell for Eden Winslow. Your normal everyday outcast, Eden avoids human contact whenever possible trying to keep […]

Blood Past has Me Looking Forward to the Future.

October 4, 2011 by unwasted words

Blood Past by Samantha Young Finding out you’re one of the half-breed Unforeseen should give a girl piece of mind that her bipolar mood swings from soul sucking Blessed to super warrior Ankh aren’t signs of her imminent insanity. But Eden’s not sure which way is up or who to trust. Yeah, she’s happy her sicko father and indifferent mother are out of the picture for good but the same people who liberated her also took away her anchor. The […]
